lyrics
WHATEVER WORKS
tell me i’m nothing
a ball of inconsequantial dust
a movement of carbon and wet air
causing a fuss
telling me i’m anything
a chance to implore for sense of worth
tell yourself anything you want
if it’ll work
i thought we’d learn by now it won’t work
i couldn’t tell you how
i got so under your skin
couldn’t think of anything much worse
seeing you about town
seeing as you found your heart
i wasn’tready for that
like your back and it hurts
we carry it on anyway
with any old pulse to persuade
if we just lie this way
we’ll feel a little better today
if you don’t know by now it won’t work
i couldn’t tell you how
i got so under your skin
couldn’t think of anything much worse
but oh, it gets worse

In a more perfect world, this band would blaring out of every radio on Earth. The lyrics, the vocals, the just-outta-teens snark and earnestness... so much to love. paulimboden
Noise pop at its finest from this rambunctious Melbourne group that thrives on louder-than-loud guitars and belted-out vocals. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 4, 2024

I bought this album for Clatty Harriet. Not what I usually expect from Martha, but such a fucking great song. No one expects songs about school and such. Not anymore at least. A beacon, this album is. Also, miss ya Spoonboy. thorseus
